CURRENT GIG
President and Queen Bee – Ad Lib Marketing – Chicago
Freelance writer/creative consultant. Serve a fun mix of clients, mostly mid-size agencies, looking for pith and vinegar at lightning speed. They like to pretend that I work for them by giving me business cards and taking me to dress-up meetings. I much prefer sitting in my attic office dreaming up big ideas, writing copy or creating silly dialogue. If you've listened to the radio or read the paper lately, chances are you've come across my work. 2004-present

Ghost Author and Book Collaborator – Persona Books – Chicago

BACKSTORY
Vice President, Creative Director – Leo Burnett USA – Chicago
I managed to help build two international brands for Philip Morris in between monthly flights across the Atlantic and weekly all-nighters across the street (at the studio). The upside, I earned a ton of frequent flyer miles plus the respect of a difficult client. 1998-2004

Creative Director – Frankel & Company – Chicago
I nurtured the young, challenged the weak and went to lots of meetings about meetings. And that was usually before 10am. Silly me for thinking that retail advertising for the U.S. Postal Service would move slowly. 1996-1998

Associate Creative Director – Jack Levy Associates – Chicago
I was a manager, writer, strategist and mother hen. Did lots of broadcast and had lots of fun. Accounts included Pizza Hut, Dean Foods and Midas. 1991-1996

Copy Supervisor – Ogilvy & Mather Direct – Chicago
Proved that direct marketing could be creative and effective for clients like American Express, NutraSweet and Encyclopedia Britannica. 1989-1991

Senior Writer – Earle Palmer Brown – Atlanta
Learned the importance of a succinct TV script while writing for Bally Fitness, Save the Children, Six Flags and TruGreen. 1985-1989

Copywriter – The Puckett Group – Atlanta
Discovered the secrets to successful print, such as syntax, storytelling, the magic of threes. And fragments. My happy clients included Thomas Nelson Publishers and Vanguard Bank. 1983-1985
